Lego city

Shopping for future grandchildren. How did I get here?

December 20, 20241 min read

Now that the holiday season is in full swing, I wanted to share a conversation I had with our oldest son recently.

Me: What do you want for Christmas?

Son: Remember that forest ranger Lego set you gave me when I was 6?

Me: Yeah...

Son: That.

Me: ...But you already have it. Why do you want a second one?

I need to preface the conversation with a fun fact. We are a LEGO family. My husband has been collecting since he was a child, and our boys have followed in his footsteps. Our basement is full of the stuff, including a massive table that takes up half the room, somewhat akin to Will Ferrell's character in the Lego Movie. Luckily for my sanity, our daughter has taken after follows her mother's pursuit of sailing.

Back to my son's response:

Son: Yeah, but I want to keep this one in the box so I can give it to my kids one day.

My mama heart was both humbled and touched that he remembered this gift and wants to pass it on.

Today's fast paced world seems so unstable that it can be difficult to think about our own future, let alone future generations. I'm so thankful that I stumbled upon the infinite banking concept because we have the peace of mind knowing our future is secure, without depending on the stock market, and provide for future generations at the same time. You can read more about how we set this up for my son here.

In the meantime, I'm off to Ebay in the hopes of finding a near vintage, unopened forest ranger set.

Curious how this could work for you and your family? Let's chat!
